The Jason Turner Band winner of C Spire Wireless competition

C Spire Wireless has announced that the winner of 2011 Bulldog Bash contest is the Jason Turner Band. The band will perform on the Clark Beverage Group main stage prior to the Avett Brothers.

Hi. My Name is Jason Turner. I write songs and sing them not only for a living, but for the gratification I get from clapping hands. My songs are stories I've lived and observations of people close to me. I write what I know or what I've lived through vicariously through others. I play over 200 shows a year and have opened for such national acts as Violent Femmes, Robert Randolph, Blessed Union of Souls, Tantric, Cross fade, Josh Kelly,Autovaughn and Jeremy Lister. In 2010 I got sick of waiting for someone outside of Mississippi to come and offer me a chance to live my dreams to put out records. With barely any money, I went into the studio and recorded my first record "13 Years". 

Life has been insane since. Playing more shows than I ever have, I'm ready to begin one of the busiest years of my musical career and put out more music than I can imagine. I survive off of the word of mouth of strangers and ask for all the help you can give in helping me reach my dreams. If you are here, please invite your friends to check this out as well.
